Elkhart County Homicide Unit launches investigation after missing man’s body found

ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is launching an investigation after a missing man was found dead in Elkhart last week.
According to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office, 43-year-old William Hensley of Elkhart was first reported missing in late December of 2023.
Hensley’s body was found last Tuesday, Feb. 20, near the St. Joseph River around Elkhart General Hospital and Bridge Street.
Officials say Hensley’s death has been ruled suspicious. An autopsy was performed on him last week, but the results are still pending.
