Cedar Street Bridge in Mishawaka closing for several months
MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - If you live in Mishawaka, here’s an important traffic alert that you’ll want to know about.
The Cedar Street Bridge over the St. Joseph River closed on Monday, and it will stay closed until at least Dec. 1.
It’s part of the first phase of Mishawaka’s Riverwalk expansion. The Cedar Street Bridge is the main connector between the north and south side of the riverwalk.
The second phase of the project will begin next April and last until its expected completion in September 2025. This all goes towards the goal of adding newer walkways and pedestrian crossings.
While the bridge is closed, detour signs will direct traffic to the Main Street Bridge using Lincolnway East and Mishawaka Avenue.
