ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - A popular barbecue restaurant in Elkhart says it’s closing its doors at the end of the month.

Bill’s Bar-B-Que announced on its Facebook page that its last day of operations will be Feb. 28.

The third-generation family-owned business got its start back in the mid ‘80s.

“I would like to thank all of our customers that have patronized Bills from the trailer on Waterfall Drive back in 1984, to the parking lot of Henry’s corner store, to the little red shack on Franklin (my favorite), to our other locations in Roseland and on Cassopolis Street. It’s been an experience,” the restaurant said on Facebook.

Popular items on the menu include pulled pork, rib tips, beef brisket, smoked chicken and homemade barbecue sauce. We featured the restaurant last year in our Michiana Eats segment.

Bills Bar-B-Que is located at 2426 Benham Avenue. For a full look at the menu and its hours of operation, click here.
