Notre Dame women’s basketball coach Niele Ivey expands her brand with style

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame women’s basketball coach Niele Ivey is busy this month leading her team through the NCAA Tournament.

In fact, the Fighting Irish will take on TCU Saturday, March 29 in a Sweet 16 game in Birmingham, Ala.

Ivey is known for dressing with style when she coaches her team, and she’s turning that style into a big part of her personal brand, along with being a successful basketball coach.

Ivey appears in the March issue of Essence magazine in an article called “Branching Out Beyond Basketball.”

The article showcases Ivey’s fashion style, along with her coaching and team building philosophy.

The 47-year-old Ivey played on the 2001 national championship Notre Dame team and then went on to play five years in the WNBA.

She was the Notre Dame assistant coach under Muffet McGraw for many years and became the head coach five years ago when McGraw retired.

Her current record as the Notre Dame head coach is 115-37, including four straight trips to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
