BOURBON, Ind. (WNDU) - The Triton School Corporation has closed schools Thursday after severe weather made its way through the area and left behind significant damage.

The district issued the following statement, saying classes are canceled due to the need for cleanup and recovery.

“Praying for the families in Bourbon from the storm. We are in close contact with law enforcement as they do their best to reroute traffic, provide assistance to families, and make sure they are providing a safe environment in the midst this difficult situation. Triton School Corporation will be cancelled tomorrow due to the need to help clean up, restore power, and plan for how to care for those in our community. If you need shelter, door 5 at the high school is open and there is staff there to help as needed.”
