MIDDLEBURY, Ind. (WNDU) - A Middlebury boy with cystic fibrosis is getting ready for the trip of a lifetime and recently met with WNDU’s Lauren Moss.

11-year-old Karsan Hunt’s favorite hobby is metal detecting, and his dreams are big.

“The best thing I would want to find is probably a Bitcoin and I would sell it, because some of them are worth like a thousand dollars,” he says.

Well, he’ll need to keep searching for that one but soon, he’ll have at least one of his wishes come true.

“I am excited to go on an airplane! I am going to sit by the window and record it so I can see everything,” Karsan says.

For the first time, Karsan is going on an airplane. He’s going to Disney World with his family, all thanks to Indiana Wish, an organization with a mission of granting a wish for Indiana children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.

“They’ve been so great. It’s almost like they’ve become family to us,” says Karsan’s mom, Sara.

It hasn’t always been easy for Karsan to be so care-fee. He has cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects his lungs and digestive system.

“Sometimes there is stuff in my chest that makes it difficult to breathe,” Karsan says.

“It just means so much to us. Just to have a break and be able to spend time together and not worry about what’s going on in everyday life,” Sara says.

CountryMark is also helping to make Karsan’s wish come true. If you fill up at one of their Goshen locations, a portion of your gas sale is going to Karsan’s big trip.

“As an Indiana-based company, we live and work here, so it’s important for us to give back to the community,” says Katie Thevenow, marketing manager at CountryMark.

The Keystone Cooperative owned and operated CountryMark fuel stations in Goshen that are participating in “Fueling Wishes” for Karsan can be found at the following locations:

  • 2427 Kercher Road, Goshen
  • 2929 Peddlers Village Road, Goshen
  • 806 E. Logan Street, Goshen
