STARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - The sheriff of Starke County has made the decision to not renew the county’s contract with Flock cameras.

Sheriff Jack Rosa said Starke County citizens have made it clear that they do not want Flock cameras. The county’s contract ends on Monday, September 14.

This announcement comes less than a month after another Michiana community decided to no longer automatically renew its contract with Flock.

In August, the Marshall County Board of Commissioners voted to rewrite its agreement with Flock Safety following concerns over warrantless data collection.

The vote in Marshall County did not automatically get rid of Flock cameras in the community, nor did it mean the contract won’t be renewed at all, just that it won’t be renewed without a vote.
