A special groundbreaking ceremony took place Monday in Elkhart.

The Truma Corporation broke ground on a new building project that will become the company's North American headquarters.

Truma is an RV component supplier company that was founded in Germany in 1949 and was named after former U.S. President Harry Truman.

Congresswoman Jackie Walorski was on hand to talk about the importance of Truma's presence in Elkhart.

"I think when you see the kind of expansion that this company's representing when you talk about global partnerships, that kind of sets us another blue ribbon for economic development," Walorski said.

Truma opened an office in Elkhart in 2013 to become more involved in the American RV industry.
